Le Modulor

Le Modulor which developed by Le Corbusier in the long century. He tried to attempts mathematical proportions in human body and use that theory to apply on architecture. This Le Modulor is based on human measurements. Based on my understanding, it is used to measure proportion, ratio(scale) and size of human body.

He figure out to used measuring systems which linked to the human body - elbow (cubit), finger (digit), thumb (inch). For this Le Modulor, it was developed between two incompatible scales which are imperial system and metric system. What is metric system? For instance, mm, cm, meter and kilometer. Examples of imperial are inches, feet, miles, etc.. While he based on the height of an English man with his arm raised to developed this system. (refer to picture below).
